American Red Cross

Voluntary service is a fundamental principle and a valuable part of the American Red Cross mission. The American Red Cross Silicon Valley has over 1,200 dedicated adults and 1,000 youths who volunteer their time and energy to help us serve our community.  We would love to have you join our team of committed volunteers.

Becoming a Red Cross volunteer is as easy as 1-2-3:

Step 1: Complete the American Red Cross Silicon Valley application and forms:

• Adult application
• Youth (under 18) application

Step 2: Complete a basic background check at www.mybackgroundcheck.com.

Step 3: Attend a one-hour group local Chapter orientation to determine which volunteer opportunities fit with your interests and skills at the Red Cross. Register for the next orientation via email.  

OPTIONAL: If you think you are interested in Disaster Services, take the ONLINE American Red Cross Disaster Volunteer Orientation. The online orientation is a convenient way for a prospective volunteer to learn more about the American Red Cross’s history, key programs and services.
